About Taft Trial Law

One team.
One standard.

We built this firm for one kind of person: the Georgian who got hurt through no fault of their own and is now facing an insurance company that would rather pay them nothing. We're here to change that fight — and you pay no attorney fee unless we win.

Our firm

Why this firm exists.

A serious injury doesn't just hurt your body. It threatens your paycheck, your peace of mind, and your family's stability all at once.

In the days after a car crash or a fall, most people aren't thinking about lawyers — they're thinking about whether they can afford the ER bill, when they can go back to work, and how they'll manage the pain. Then the phone rings, and it's an insurance adjuster who sounds friendly but is trained to pay you as little as possible.

Who we fight for

That imbalance is the reason Taft Trial Law focuses entirely on representing injured people. We don't defend insurance companies. We don't work for corporations or trucking fleets. Our job — our only job — is to stand between you and the people who caused your harm, and to pursue everything Georgia law allows.

What we take off your shoulders

The insurance industry counts on injured people feeling overwhelmed, uninformed, and alone. We exist to take that fear off your shoulders: to explain your rights in plain English — starting with answers to the questions injured Georgians ask most — to handle the paperwork and the phone calls, and to build a case so well-prepared that the other side takes it seriously from day one.

What our name means

What “trial law” means to us.

Our name isn't decoration. Most personal injury claims do settle before trial — and that's often the right outcome for our clients. But there's a reason the strongest settlements go to lawyers who are genuinely ready to walk into a courtroom. Insurance companies keep track of which firms actually try cases and which ones always fold. When they know your attorney is prepared to put your case in front of a Georgia jury, the number on the table tends to go up.

“We treat the insurance company's first offer as a starting point — never the finish line.”

The Taft Trial Law approach

So we prepare every case as if it will be tried, whether or not it ever is. We gather the evidence, line up the medical proof, and pressure-test the story from every angle the defense might attack. If the insurer offers what your case is truly worth, we'll tell you and help you take it. If they don't, we're ready to keep going. You can see what working with us looks like, step by step, before you ever sign anything.

When you hire Taft Trial Law, you work directly with your attorneys — not a file number passed around a call center.

Zachary Taft, founding attorney at Taft Trial Law in Atlanta

Zachary Taft

Founding Attorney

Zachary Taft is a trial lawyer, and that distinction matters more than most people realize when they hire an injury attorney. Insurance companies know which lawyers will take a case to a jury and which will settle for whatever is on the table, and they set their offers accordingly.

Zachary has tried more than 45 contested cases and hearings, including over 25 criminal trials and more than 20 workers' compensation hearings. He has cross-examined police officers, physicians, and expert witnesses; argued before judges and juries across Georgia; and learned what actually persuades a factfinder when the evidence is disputed and the stakes are high. He has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of injured people. That experience shapes how he builds every case, from the first client meeting forward.

He also knows the other side from the inside. Zachary spent the first three years of his career representing insurance companies. He learned how adjusters are trained, how carriers decide which claims to fight and which to pay, and where injured people are most often shortchanged. Today he uses that knowledge on behalf of injured people, not the companies that pay them.

Zachary earned his law degree with honors from Georgia State University College of Law in 2014 and is admitted to practice in Georgia. He lives and works in Atlanta.

Serious injury claims from car and truck collisions; uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage; dangerous property conditions; elder abuse and neglect; and bad faith claims against insurers that refuse to honor their own policies.

Bria Lewis, associate attorney at Taft Trial Law in Atlanta

Bria Lewis

Associate Attorney

Bria Lewis has spent her entire legal career on the side of people who need someone to fight for them. She started in public service, defending the constitutional rights of people accused of crimes and taking their cases to trial. She brings that courtroom experience to Taft Trial Law, where she represents people hurt in car and truck crashes, on unsafe property, and by insurance companies that refuse to pay what they owe.

That trial background matters in a personal injury case. Insurance companies pay attention to which lawyers are willing to take a case in front of a jury. Bria has tried cases to verdict and has negotiated more than $1 million in settlements for injured people and their families.

Bria takes pride in standing up for the people of her community against the people and companies responsible for their injuries. Outside the office, she spends time with family and friends, crochets, hunts down good food, and hikes new trails.

Jarysbell Garcia, paralegal at Taft Trial Law in Atlanta

Jarysbell Garcia

Paralegal

When you hire Taft Trial Law, Jarysbell is one of the first people you will meet and one of the people you will hear from most. She keeps your personal injury case moving: gathering medical records and bills, tracking your treatment, handling correspondence with the insurance companies, and making sure nothing gets missed while you focus on getting better.

Jarysbell has spent years working in personal injury law and knows the process from intake through resolution. She earned her degree in Sociology from Georgia State University, a field she chose because she wanted to understand people, not just their paperwork. That shows in how she works with clients. She listens, she explains what comes next, and she has a way of bringing calm and order to a situation that feels chaotic.

Being injured is stressful enough. Jarysbell's job is to make the legal side of it easier.

What you can count on

Three commitments. Every case.

  • Trial-ready
    from day one.

We prepare every case as though a jury will decide it. That readiness is exactly what pushes insurers to make their best offer.

  • Your lawyer,
    not a file number.

You'll work directly with an attorney who knows your name and your story — not a case number handed off between departments.

  • Straight answers,
    even hard ones.

We'll tell you honestly whether you have a case, what it may be worth, and where things stand — even when it isn't what you hoped to hear.

We know the roads people drive here, the courts these cases move through, and the way Georgia law treats injury claims. That local knowledge matters when it's time to build your case and, if necessary, present it to a jury of your fellow Georgians.
